Bob James – Transition Director

Bob is a member of the Institute for Turnaround and has 30 years experience as Managing Director and Main Board director of manufacturing and service businesses in permanent and interim roles including as a former director of Concentric Plc and The Port of Tilbury.
A qualified and intuitive manufacturing engineer, Bob has hands on knowledge of supplying components to OEM’s in automotive, domestic appliances and off highway equipment together with several other markets. He has experience of selling and integrating businesses and leading turnarounds and culture change in manufacturing and service businesses as well as considerable experience of interfacing with unions and other stakeholders, and applying a pragmatic approach to lean manufacturing. He has a successful record as a director in a number of Private Equity backed businesses including experience of several exits, he is a team builder and motivator at all levels, with a practical approach to business acquisition and disposal processes.
Bob’s specialities include overall business performance improvement, managing businesses through disposal and integration, mentoring SME management teams and leading the team to change the culture in manufacturing and service businesses.
