Steve is a Chartered Accountant who qualified with Arthur Young in London. He has worked for both larger international groups and smaller entrepreneurial companies in a variety of sectors including FMCG and branded goods, IT distribution and recruitment.
Steve spent over 5 years with the Dunhill Group, moving up to manage acquisitions for Dunhill Holdings PLC. The Group made a number of high profile acquisitions including Karl Lagerfeld and the buy-back of Montblanc’s US distribution business.
His first major turnaround was as Finance Director of Merrydown PLC, a small quoted branded drinks business, where he worked with the management team on formulating and implementing a successful turnaround plan for the business.
Steve has also been involved in successful turnarounds for a medium sized IT distribution business and Recruitment Business. He has exposure to working with and managing difficult relationships between stakeholders in smaller companies including family shareholders, VC’s and bankers.
Having been an independent practitioner for a number of years, Steve now is very excited to join Galen Partners and to working with the highly experienced team to bring value, particularly to smaller companies who need the sort of support he believes GPS can bring to the SME sector.
